Emerging out of layered hand-made nets, sprayed through with pigment in a way similar to early cave paintings. The forms and caverns emerge from these first steps, and from layering in stenciled net shapes which paint is pressed through.. Forms are built up layer by layer, growing more with each complication introduced- just as water drips and reinforces eroded paths, stalactites form over time, the subjects coming into focus in this piece are built over rigorous material trials and leveraging layers on the busy surface; I want this piece to have the impression of a chamber of reflection or a grotto, forming in relationship to its inhabitants, as a constantly morphing and transmuting landscape.
