Central skin measures ~ 8 x 5’

A skin not removed from a living being but made from the feeling of anticipating hunt and flee- Flight or fight. The desire to be swallowed up by the planet by one’s own terms, not a grave but a cavernous cocoon. And to be digested and changed by this escape. To know rest and be transformed in a way only possible in this exposure to one’s self in such a self contained system. Change and rest aren’t possible in the way that I desire now so my paintings provide the cave for me to tune into, an emergent, breathing boundary to be grounded in. This painting is made up of 4+ layers of translucent material which are melded and shaped into a stretched hide, complete with grommets and rope stretching it to the tanning rack
